Finding and booking a wedding photographer can be daunting. Here are some commonly asked questions about what I offer to help you make the best decision.

What images do we get in our wedding photography package?

There are no hidden tricks regarding your images – I firmly believe that your images are yours to keep. I won’t hold your digital images for ransom, cover them with ugly watermarks or give them to you at low quality so you can’t print them. All clients receive their full set of digital images at high and low resolution, fully edited and retouched without watermarks. 

Why high AND low resolution?

High resolution images you can use for prints, albums and wall art up to A2 size.  Low resolution images are a smaller file size and perfect for sharing electronically via email, Facebook and other social media platforms.

What about copyright?

All yours. Easy.

How will we receive our images?

Your digital images will be posted to you on a USB – certainly a nice change to bills!

I will give you a sneak peek of a couple of images from your wedding straight away – great for posting on Facebook and Instagram to share the excitement! Your final images are usually ready and sent to you on USB within 2-3 weeks of your wedding day. You will also receive a link to an exclusive online gallery on the website (set to private) that you can share with others also.

Do you do colour and black and white photographs?

Yes. I will include both in your package.

Do you offer albums?

Sure do! And I don’t charge through the roof for them either.  I’ll show you what’s available when we meet and see what you think. If you change your mind later, that’s totally fine too.

From stunning fine art albums and hard cover books to smaller parent/bridal party gifts, I offer a variety of albums to suit your budget and needs.

But I’ve never made an album before!

That’s ok! With all album packages, I offer a design consultation where I’ll guide you to create layouts that best tell your story. I will send you a draft first and make edits with you so you are involved each step of the way. Once it’s sent, your beautiful album will be ready and posted to you in around 6 weeks.


Who photographs my wedding?

Me – I will always be there to photograph your wedding. However depending on your level of coverage, I may also have my assistant, friend and fellow photographer Karen on the job too. Karen brings her experience in photographing weddings, her keen eye for detail and great sense of humour with her on the day.

How long will you be with us for?

Some couples prefer me to be there for the key moments only – ceremony and family portraits, and that is perfectly fine. I have half-day coverage options for short ceremonies and elopements.

However, the most popular option is full-day coverage to photograph you from beginning to end. Typically a full day involves myself and Karen arriving early to photograph the brides and/or grooms getting ready at multiple locations. We are with you at your ceremony, and at various locations for family portraits and couple shoots afterwards. We will also be at your reception to capture speeches, dancing and fun times. Full-day coverage is definitely the best option if you would like to tell the story of your day.

Will you guide us on the day so we get the best photos?

Absolutely. We provide you and your guests who are being photographed with direction on the day, without staging cheesy scenes or being over-the-top bossy. All couples who book their wedding with us receive my Brides + Grooms Photography Guide handwritten by me, full of tips and advice to look your best and to get the most from us on your day. It covers all essentials like working with the weather, allotting times for portraits and optimising natural light for best photos.

We also provide all of our clients with a run-sheet of the day based on your ceremony and reception timing. It’s a schedule that incorporates things like addresses, travel times in between locations and sunset times (for those lovely golden portraits).

What if it rains?

Weather is something we cannot control – we do live in Melbourne after all! But don’t panic if it does rain – the weather simply adds another layer to your story.

We have experience in shooting weddings in all kinds of weather – blazing hot summer days, wind, and of course, rain. We carry with us a set of umbrellas for you and the bridal party to use when travelling between locations. And we are pretty flexible when it comes to changing locations if need be – you won’t be left standing in the rain, shivering cold. Between the umbrellas and our bride first aid kit (mints, lip balm, band aids, bobby pins) the ‘mum’ sure comes out in us!

Do you travel?

Yes. Just ask and I will do my best to make it happen.

Sounds great! When should we book?

Simple answer – as soon as possible! After you have chosen a date and a venue, next thing to do is book your wedding photographer. Photographers often take bookings over a year in advance so get in early to get your preferred photographer and date. Once you find a photographer you are happy with, book them in to avoid disappointment.
